Pvt Edward W « Ed » Allord

Le Pvt Ed Allord est né en 1915 à Northampton, Massachusetts . Il est le plus jeune d’une famille de 5 enfants ; 3 frêres et une sœur . Il venait d’une famille catholique Irlandaise .
Celle-çi arriva dans le New Hampshire pour rejoindre le CC Camp à Jaffrey . Le camp avait été créé par le gouvernement lors de la grande dépression , le but était d’apporter du travail .
Il était marié et papa de 3 filles ; Priscilla Mary née en 1941, Katherine Elisabeth née en 1942 et Dorothy Ann née en Sept 1945 .

Les trois frêres de Ed firent aussi la WW2 et revinrent en vie . Mais ceux-çi auraient préférés prendre la place de Ed car eux n’étaient pas mariés et n’avaient pas d’enfants .

Ed était Charpentier et aimait son travail . La famille posséde toujours des meubles fait par lui .

Ces filles ont quelques souvenirs de lui conduisant la voiture, ou jouant de la musique et chantant .

Ed s’engagea le 07 juillet 1944, en novembre il passa une dernière fois à la maison avant son transfert pour l’Europe . Il était Pvt au sein du 393rd Regt du 99th Infantry Division . Le 11 mars 1945 le 99th traversa le pont de Remagen et se dirigérent vers Linz .
Il tomba le 17 mars 1945 .

Le Pvt Edward W Allord est enterré à Henri – Chapelle ; Plot D, Row 15, Grave 42 .

Pvt Edward W « Ed » Allord

Pvt Ed Allord was born in 1915 in Northampton, Massachusetts . He was the youngest child of a family of 5 ; had three brothers and one sister. He was from an Irish Catholic family.

His family relocated to New Hampshire to join the CC Camp in Jaffrey. The camp had been started by the government during the Great Depression. Its goal was to create employment opportunities.

Ed was married and was the father of 3 daughters ; Priscilla Mary born in 1941, Katherine Elisabeth born in 1942, and Dorothy Ann born in Sept 1945 .

Ed’s three brothers also enlisted in WW2 and came back home safely. But they rather would have switched placed with him as they were not married and had no children.

Ed was a carpentar and loved his job. His family still owns pieces of furniture he designed.

His daughters still remember him driving his car or playing music, and singing.

Ed enlisted on July 07th, 1944. In November, he went back home one last time before transferring to Europe. He was a Pvt in the 393rd Regt of the 99th Infantry Division . On March 11th, 1945, the 99th crossed the bridge of Remagen in the direction of Linz .
Ed was killed in action on March 17th, 1945.

Pvt Edward W Allord is burried at Henri – Chapelle ; Plot D, Row 15, Grave 42 .
